Gerard Muschette & Adriane BlakeBeaver Falls, PA – It has already been a memorable athletic season for Geneva College. The women′s volleyball team has already set the school record for victories in a season and the football team has its sights on finishing strong and watching one of its own rewrite the record books. Adriane Blake will finish her volleyball career with the most kills per game in school history. Gerard Muschette is looking to become Geneva′s all-time leading rusher. Both were honored on Wednesday for the work they did on the court and on the field a week ago. Muschette was named the NCCAA football co-player of the week for the third time this fall while Blake was named the volleyball co-player of the week for the second time in 2010.

The senior outside hitter led her team to a perfect 3-0 record last week with victories over Saint Vincent, Grove City and Westminster. In the process, the Golden Tornadoes improved to 26-5 on the season and broke the single season record for victories that has stood since 1986. She also helped Geneva complete its first undefeated season at home in school history with a perfect 8-0 mark. Blake posted 5.3 kills per game with a .309 hitting percentage. She continues to lead the PAC Conference in kills per game and closed out the regular season as Geneva′s all-time leader in kills per game. She also posted 3.7 digs and 0.8 blocks per game in Geneva′s perfect week.

Muschette continues to rewrite the Geneva College record book. In Geneva′s 34-20 victory over Thiel on Saturday, Muschette broke the single game record with 302 yards rushing on 30 carries. He also scored four touchdowns and broke the career mark with 44 touchdowns in his career. Trailing 6-0 at halftime, Geneva exploded behind Muschette′s 250 second half rushing yards to put 34 points on the board. Muschette scored on runs of 7, 12, 24 and 70 yards to surpass the all-time mark. With one game left on Geneva′s schedule, Muschette is just 108 yards shy of breaking the all-time rushing mark of 3,809 yards.
