Dr. Eric Miller
Confessing History book which is co-edited by Dr. Eric Miller

Eric Miller, associate professor of history at Geneva College, John Fea, associate professor of American history at Messiah College, and Jay Green, associate professor of history at Covenant College, have co-edited the book Confessing History: Explorations in Christian Faith and the Historian′s Vocation. The three editors are former classmates who studied together at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School under Dr. John Woodbridge.

The essays in Confessing History consider the challenges facing Christian historians and probe the relationship between Christian calling and the multi-faceted work of historians. The essays, ranging from the theoretical to the practical, explore the ways that Christian faith speaks into the multiple discourses and communities of which historians are a part.

Noted historian Donald Yerxa, Director of The Historical Society at Boston University says in his review of Confessing History, “How to reconcile religious commitment with the practices of the guild is one of the really big questions for believing historians. Confessing History is essential reading not only for them, but also for any wishing to understand the important issues at stake. In its pages we witness the concerns, questions, and yearnings of a new generation of believing historians—and perhaps even the contours of a new approach to Christian historical scholarship.”
