On the weekends of November 11 - 13 and 18 - 20, the Geneva College Theater will perform The Spitfire Grill. Performances will be at 8 p.m., with an additional Saturday matinee at 2 p.m. each weekend. The Spitfire Grill is directed by Mindy Wagner.

The Spitfire Grill is a musical written by James Valcq and Fred Alley about a woman, Percy Talbot, who has just been released from a five year prison sentence for manslaughter. She is trying to find a place for a fresh start and, based on a page from an old travel book, travels to the small town of Gilead, Wis. where she gets a job at The Spitfire Grill, the only restaurant in the dying town. The Grill is for sale, but with no interested buyers, Percy convinces the owner to raffle it off by having people send in 100 dollars and essays saying why they want the Grill. The writer of the best essay will win ownership of the restaurant. Soon, mail is arriving by the wheelbarrow full and things are definitely getting hot at the Spitfire Grill! This musical triumph is an inspiring celebration of fresh starts and the power of what one person can do.

Tickets are $5 for general admission and $3 for students. Call the Box Office at 724-847-5099, or dial ext. 5099, to reserve tickets. The show will be at the Studio Theater on Route 18.
