Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva got back to its defensive principles on Monday night and got back into the win column after a disappointing loss on Saturday night. The Golden Tornadoes responded 48 hours after losing to Saint Vincent with an 84-62 victory over Penn State Beaver. Geneva improved to 16-6 on the season, including a 9-2 mark on its home floor with its 12th victory in 14 games against the Lions.

"It was really nice to have an opportunity to come back and play so quickly after Saturday night," said head coach Jeff Santarsiero. "We played our worst half of basketball in the second half against Saint Vincent so our guys were very anxious to put that effort behind them. Tonight we executed much better on both ends of the floor and got rewarded with a hard fought victory."

Geneva scored seven of the last nine points in the first half to open up a 43-28 lead at the break. The Golden Tornadoes led by as many as 32 points in the second half before settling for a 22 point victory. "We got contributions from a lot of different guys tonight and it was nice to see everyone get into the game. We have a tough final stretch ahead of us and we still have lots of work to do."

Richard Colick led the way once again with 20 points as he moved into 11th place on the all-time scoring list. The only other two Geneva players to reach double figures were Bryan Hill and Bryce Salamone with ten points each. Brandon Sopko scored nine points and added nine assists while Matt Lorello scored eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Geneva will get back to work within the PAC on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Grove City College for a 3 pm tip-off. The Golden Tornadoes will visit Westminster next week before closing out the regular season at home next Saturday night.
