Beaver Falls, PA - The offense for the Geneva College baseball team had come fairly easily up to this point in the 2011 season. But much like the weather on Saturday afternoon at Geneva′s 33rd Street Field, the offense went cold. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a doubleheader to Saint Vincent College by scores of 4-0 and 8-1. The losses dropped Geneva′s overall record to 10-5 on the season.

The Golden Tornadoes came into Saturday′s action with a team batting average of .350 but managed just one run in 14 innings in the PAC openers. Geneva did manage to scatter seven singles in game one but leaving six runners on base. Adam Scheiderer and Mike Suluva each contributed a pair of hits in game one. Matt Baer took the hard luck loss allowing three earned runs in five innings of work. Saint Vincent posted single runs in the second and third innings before posting a pair of runs in the fifth.

The offense remained silent in game two of the doubleheader with one run on six hits. Suluva again came up with a pair of singles in the night cap to lead the Golden Tornadoes. The lone run came across the plate in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly from Joel Gatti. Ross Potts got the start for Geneva and tossed 4.1 innings and allowed four earned runs in his outing.

Geneva will look for some quick revenge against the Bearcats when it travels to Latrobe for a single, nine-inning game on Monday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes return home next Friday to host Thiel College.
