Author Gabe Lyons to speak at Geneva College on Wednesday, March 16.Geneva College welcomes author and speaker Gabe Lyons to campus on Wednesday, March 16. Lyons is the author of The Next Christians: the Good News about the End of Christian America and co-author with David Kinnaman of UnChristian: What a New Generation Really Thinks About Christianity and Why It Matters.

Lyons will present "Being a Restorer" to the campus community during chapel at 10:10 a.m. in the Metheny Fieldhouse. That evening, he will be speaking on "Empowering a New Generation of Believers" in an open session held in Skye Lounge at 7 p.m. While on campus, Lyons will also participate in a meeting with members of the Geneva student leadership program GC Life and attend a faculty luncheon.

Lyons was a member of the team that co-founded Catalyst, the nation′s largest gathering of young Christian leaders. Catalyst educates young Christians on how to apply Christianity in creative ways. In 2010, the organization drew 13,000 Christian leaders to Atlanta for the Catalyst Conference.

Following the establishment of Catalyst, he created Q in response to a perceived need for increased cultural exposure and understanding within the American church. Q is an organization that educates cultural and church leaders on the responsibility of historically renewing and restoring our cultures. Learn more at www.qideas.org.

Lyons has been featured on CNN and Fox News, as well as in the New York Times and Newsweek, speaking on the topic of Christians being afraid to admit their faith. He focuses on the importance of Christians being compassionate and loving toward every aspect of negativity in life.
