Nathan Davis, Morgan Czartoryski and Tom Pyle presented at the 2011 PA School Counselors Association.

Three Geneva College graduate students recently gave presentations at the 55th Annual 2011 Pennsylvania School Counselors Association (PSCA) Conference in Lancaster, PA. These students, Morgan Czartoryski, Nathan Davis and Tom Pyle, are all currently enrolled in Geneva′s CACREP-accredited Master of Arts in Counseling program.

The PSCA Conference is comprised of workshops designed to provide current and future school counselors with professional development and successful techniques and strategies. The conference also allows school counselors to network with experts as they develop school counseling programs that meet Pennsylvania Standards and American School Counselor Association (ASCA) National Standards.

Czartoryski, Davis, and Pyle presented a workshop on creating and expanding cultural awareness on international adoption in schools. The focus was on the cultural exploration of adoptees and some of the troubles they may have when first coming to American schools.

"I think the most important thing that I got out of the conference was the experience of presenting before my peers," says Tom Pyle. "It was good for me to see what it was like, and I enjoyed it enough to present again in the future."

"The PSCA Conference was very interesting. We got to meet other people in the field of school counseling and hear their experiences," says Morgan Czartoryski. "I went to a session on ethics, which really is starting to prepare me for my classes."
