Geneva, PA - After two innings, the Geneva College baseball team was trailing Washington & Jefferson 3-0. But the Golden Tornadoes rallied back from the three-run deficit and capped it with a walk-off 6-5 victory over the Presidents. The win pushed Geneva′s overall record to 13-8 on the season.

After spotting W & J a three-run lead, Geneva got on the board with a run in the third inning. Jon Bushmire knocked in Geneva′s second run with a base hit in the fourth inning as he was just getting started with his heroics. Two runs in the sixth inning scored on a double from Mike Jeffreys. A Jeremy Herzog sacrifice fly tied the score at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth, which set the stage for a game winning ninth inning. With runners on first and second and one out, Bushmire came through with an RBI double to send the home fans away happy. Bushmire was 3-5 on the day with three RBI′s. The Golden Tornadoes banged out a total of 13 hits in the game. Both Bushmire and Jeffreys had three hits apiece.

Matt Baer went six innings for Geneva and allowed three earned runs while striking out a pair. Caleb Kilgore took care of the final three innings to pick up the victory. Kilgore did not allow a run and gave up just one hit in three innings of work.

The Golden Tornadoes are scheduled to begin a three-game series with Westminster on Friday with a single game scheduled for 4 pm at Geneva. The Golden Tornadoes will travel to New Wilmington for a doubleheader on Saturday at 1 pm.
