Beaver Falls, PA - If you like offense, the fans certainly got what they came to see at Geneva′s 33rd Street Field on Thursday. Unfortunately for Geneva, the majority of offense came from the Titans in a 16-8 decision over the Golden Tornadoes. A total of 24 runs and 31 hits were produced in the nine inning slugfest. The loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 14-12 on the season.

Things started well for Geneva with three runs in the bottom of the first. An RBI single from Justin McGurgan was followed by back to back run scoring doubles from Adam Teets and Adam Scheiderer. Westminster scored the next runs but Geneva battled back to within a run with two more tallies in the bottom of the third. Noah Medich′s two run double pulled Geneva closer. After two more Titan runs, Geneva used the long ball to once again pull within a run. Solo home runs from Jon Jurinko and Scheiderer made the score 8-7. The Titans put the game away with five more runs in the seventh inning. Scheiderer led Geneva′s attack with three hits and a pair of RBI′s.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to turn things around over the weekend with a three-game series against Waynesburg. The series opens at Geneva on Friday with a single game scheduled for 4 pm.
