Bethany, WV - A total of 31 hits and 30 runs were scored between Geneva and Bethany on Thursday afternoon. When the slugfest had concluded it was the Golden Tornadoes that came out on top by the final score of 16-14. Geneva used a four-run ninth inning to rally past the Bison to move to 19-14 on the season.

Both teams went back and forth with a total of seven lead changes in the game with the Golden Tornadoes coming away with the last laugh. A two-run double off the bat of Joel Gatti in the ninth inning gave the Golden Tornadoes the lead as they would add another insurance run off of a Bethany error one batter later. For the game, a total of five Geneva players ended with multiple hit performances. Mike Suluva, Jon Jurinko and Noah Medich all had three hits while Gatti and Mike Jeffreys checked in with a pair of knocks. Jeffreys finished the game with five RBI′s to lead the Geneva attack.

Tad Forsythe pitched 5.1 innings of relief to pick up the victory. Forsythe allowed just four hits and no earned runs in his outing. He struck out one and walked one in the victory.

Geneva won for the fifth consecutive time and sits at 19-14 with a three game series against Grove City beginning with a single game at the Wolverines on Friday. The home finale is slated for Saturday beginning at 1 pm.
