Geneva College has the Flux Capacitor charged and ready to take Geneva alumni and students "Back to the Future" for Homecoming 2011 on Saturday, October 1. A variety of activities are planned throughout the day for the Geneva community to come to campus and celebrate the school′s past, present and future.

The College Hill Festival is open to the public and will be located on the Pedestrian Mall. The festival features artisans, vendors and musicians as well as a dunk tank, food fight toss, cow milking contest and more. A genuine DeLorean will be available for photo opportunities, weather permitting. In addition, a wide selection of local groups will display their skills and talents on the Community Stage located on Old Main Lawn. And for children, Kid Zone on McKee Lawn offers games, balloons, face painting and a petting zoo.

Campus tours will be conducted throughout the morning for those wishing to learn more about Geneva College. Registration for the tours may be made by contacting the Admissions Office at admissions@geneva.edu or 800-847-8255.

Alumni have a number of opportunities to go back in time to fellowship and rekindle old friendships. All alumni are invited to enjoy lunch with classmates and faculty members during the Alumni Luncheon as Wendy (Schwedler ′91) Allman and Joyce Lynn ′61 are presented with the Geneva College Distinguished Service Award. In the afternoon, members of the classes of ′81, ′86, ′91, ′96, ′01 and ′06 will gather in the Benedum Room for class photos.

Special alumni events for the day include a 25-Year Reunion Breakfast for members of the class of 1986 and their families, a tennis reunion gathering, the alumni baseball game, and a cookout for alumni of the women′s and men′s soccer teams. Alumni ages 60 and up are encouraged to meet in the West Reading Room of McCartney Library for the Golden Tornado Reunion. Also, Geneva′s music and drama ministry New Song invites all former members to mark the group′s 35th year by performing in a reunion concert.

The Back to the Future Homecoming celebration concludes with an afternoon football game. The 2011 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned during a pregame ceremony on Reeves Field, and then the Geneva Golden Tornadoes will take on the St. Vincent Bearcats.
