In an effort to improve programming and services for students, Geneva College has revised a number of staff positions in the Office of Student Development. Ryan Holt will now be the Director of Student Programs and Brian Jensen has been named the Director of Student Leadership Development/Coordinator for Student Retention.

Formerly responsible for both student programs and portions of student leadership, Holt will be better able to focus on student programs and activities at Geneva in his new position. He will organize, coordinate and oversee programs such as Student Activities, intramural sports, Welcome Week and assist with the Learning and Transition. Holt, along with three graduate assistants and student volunteers make up the Student Programming Office, which is located on the third level of the Student Center.

Holt has high expectations for the upcoming year. "In light of the transition, I'm excited for both offices to put more time and energy into the opportunities that we provide for the students."

Previously the Resident Director of Geneva Arms apartments, Jensen will now be interacting with the student body in a different role. As the Director of Student Leadership Development/Coordinator for Student Retention, Jensen will work with the Geneva College Student Union (GCSU), clubs and organizations, and student leadership development. He is also associated with the newly-formed Beta program for freshman leadership. Additionally, Jensen will sit on the campus retention committee as well as co-chair the Student Development Retention Committee.

Jensen is looking forward to having a positive impact on the students of Geneva in his new role. He said, "I'm excited to continue developing students who are confident in their leadership potential."
