Cedarville, OH - It was far from an easy turnaround for the Geneva College tennis team. After dropping the season opener on Friday to Saint Vincent College, the Golden Tornadoes boarded a bus early on Saturday for the five hour trek to Cedarville University. The travel and the heat did not help Geneva′s cause in a 7-1 loss to the Yellow Jackets. Geneva fell to 0-2 to start the 2011 campaign.

The number five singles match was not completed because of the oppressive heat. A marathon first two sets including Geneva′s Julie Kline. The Golden Tornadoes did get their first individual win of the new season with a #3 doubles victory from the tandem of Kline and Amy Weller, who won their match by the count of 8-5. Geneva was unable to salvage a game in either of the other two doubles matches to start the day.

Cedarville shut-out Geneva in the other five singles matches in straight set decisions. The Golden Tornadoes will seek their first victory of the new season next Friday at defending PAC champion Grove City and that in Greenville at Thiel College next Saturday afternoon.
