Beaver Falls, PA - It was a long four years of NCAA Division III provisional status for the Geneva College athletic department. After not being eligible for any conference victories within the Presidents′ Athletic Conference for the last four years, Geneva finally picked up its first conference victory on Wednesday night as the Golden Tornadoes′ volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 victory over Washington & Jefferson by the scores of 25-10, 25-12, 25-22. The victory moved Geneva′s overall record to 3-2 including a 1-0 mark in conference play.

Geneva′s front line hitters were nearly flawless on Wednesday night as the threesome of Rachel Kuegler, Kristland McCracken and Maggie Bowersox combined for 28 kills on 53 swings while committing just two hitting errors. Sophomore setter Deanna Briody was setting her teammates up all night with a total of 35 assists in the three games.

Meanwhile, Geneva′s service game was on point with a total of nine service aces including three each from Emily Bestor and Brianna Mixter. Mixter also led the defensive charge with a team best 16 digs.
