Beaver Falls, PA - For the second consecutive game, the Geneva College women′s soccer team dominated an opponent. Just two days after cruising past Penn State Beaver 10-0, the Golden Tornadoes took care of Mt. Aloysius by the count of 4-0 in the 2011 home opener at Merriman Complex. Geneva hosted Penn State Beaver at Reeves Field on Tuesday night. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record to 2-1 while the Mounties fell to 0-3.

Geneva outshot Mt. Aloysius 24-2 in the match with freshman goalkeeper Sara Mittner turning both shots aside to earn her second collegiate victory and second consecutive shut-out. This game was about Geneva′s offensive prowess as Rebecca Shaw struck first for Geneva in the 23rd minute as she tallied her third goal of the season. Seven minutes later, Cindy George scored her first college goal after entering the game just moments earlier. Maura Allen scored for the fourth time in 2011 in the 32nd minute to close out the first half scoring as Geneva to a 3-0 lead into the break.

Julie Collins scored her third goal in two games in the 46th minute to close out the scoring for the match. Geneva had several other offensive chances but was unable to find the net. Mt. Aloysius starting goalkeeper Bethany Cocola turned away all four shots she faced in the first ten minutes before going out with a leg injury. Teammate Nicola Johnson took over in net and made six saves in the match.

Geneva will play its third consecutive game on College Hill on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. when it welcomes Medialle College.
