Waynesburg, PA - After facing some of the most difficult conditions in recent history last weekend at Westminster, the Geneva College cross country teams dealt with much more comfortable running conditions at Waynesburg on Saturday morning. Both teams finished third in the overall point standings in a meet that featured PAC opponents Waynesburg, Grove City and Washington & Jefferson.

In men′s action, the Golden Tornadoes finished third overall but second among PAC schools behind only Grove City. Geneva′s 62 total points was just four shy of Grove City′s 58 second place total. Nick Edinger once again paced the Golden Tornadoes with a second place overall finish in a time of 27:25 on the 8K course. Owen Struck was eighth overall with a mark of 28:25 while Charles Walters also cracked the top ten with a time of 28:43. Washington & Jefferson′s Scott Ryan won the race with an impressive time of 26:41, which was an impressive 44 seconds better than his closest opponent in Edinger.

Geneva′s women also finished third overall with Grove City′s women taking the top prize. Geneva placed a pair of women in the top ten with Shannon Rech placing seventh overall and freshman Heidi Steiner posting an eighth place finish.

Geneva will enjoy a weekend away from competition before getting back on the course on September 24th when both teams travel to Saint Vincent College for a 10 am meet.
