Beaver Falls, PA - It really can′t be as easy as Geneva College freshman goalkeeper Bryan Butler is making it look. After two collegiate matches, the freshman has posted a pair of shut-outs and is yet to give up a collegiate goal. One week after becoming Geneva′s first-ever PAC player of the week, Butler now has the distinction of becoming Geneva′s first-ever two-time award winner. For the second consecutive week, Butler was named the Presidents′ Athletic Conference men′s soccer defensive player of the week.

Butler posted a shut-out against Otterbein in his first collegiate match in the second game of the season. Butler, who is sharing time in goal with junior Evan Biedenbach, was back in the net this past Saturday night and helped Geneva to a 2-0 victory over Penn-State Altoona with a two save effort.

Butler and Biedenbach may be the most dynamic goalkeeping tandem in the PAC. In addition to an explosive offense that is coming off of a 14 win season in 2010, the goalkeeper duo of Butler and Biedenbach is making it very difficult for teams to find the net. Biedenbach picked up his first victory of the season on Monday night when he led Geneva to a 4-1 victory and allowed at the very least a very questionable goal that found the net while a LaRoche player was lying on Beidenbach's back. Both goalkeepers have been outstanding in the early season and are certainly a nice luxury for head coach Gary Dunda to be dealt.

Geneva is currently sitting at 3-1-1 for the season and will host Malone University on Wednesday night with Butler back in the net against Geneva′s former conference foe. At some point a college team will get one past Butler but the freshman can certainly enjoy the early season ride for as long as it lasts.
