Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College men′s soccer team found itself in unfamiliar territory on Wednesday evening. The Golden Tornadoes spotted Malone University the first goal of the match and was forced to come back looking for their third consecutive victory. Geneva did exactly that with the game′s final three goals to secure a 3-1 victory over Malone and improve to 4-1-1 on the season including three straight wins.

Malone opened the scoring in the 12th minute on a Kelvin Aquino goal. Jake McCracken, who tallied three goals in Geneva′s victory on Monday night, found a loose ball inside the six yard line and deposited it into the net to tie the game with his seventh goal of the season.

The game headed to the halftime break tied at one but Geneva managed to score the only two goals of the second half. Jeb Nash took a corner kick ten minutes into the second stanza. Nash′s corner was touched by David Gerlach right to the foot of Jon Mathoslah who made no mistake in picking up his first goal of the season. With just under ten minutes left in regulation, David Harwood got his first goal of the game on a header off of a perfect feed from Teddy Krzywiecki.

Freshman goalkeeper Bryan Butler finally yielded his first goal of the season but managed to remain unbeaten at 3-0 with a solid performance that included a season best 12 saves. Geneva out shot Malone 18-17, but the Pioneers did manage to put 13 of those shots on the net.

The Golden Tornadoes will look to extend their win streak on Saturday night when they welcome Franciscan University for a 7 pm kickoff.
