Beaver Falls, PA - It has not been easy going for the Geneva College women′s tennis team to start the 2011 campaign. On Wednesday, the Golden Tornadoes fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference with a 9-0 loss to Westminster College. Playing on the courts at Beaver Falls High School, Geneva opened the match with three consecutive losses in the doubles matches.

Teammates Cassandra Califf and Sarah Cypher put up a good fight in second doubles before dropping an 8-4 decision. Trailing 3-0 after doubles, Geneva was unable to generate any momentum in the six singles matches. Each of Geneva′s singles players dropped straight set decisions to the Titans and won only a total of ten games in the 12 sets that were played on Wednesday.

The Golden Tornadoes will seek out their first overall victory and their first win in the conference on Saturday morning when they welcome Thomas More to Brady′s Run Park for a 10 am match.
