Beaver Falls, PA - Geneva College men′s soccer head coach Gary Dunda knew that the early season loss to Fredonia State suffered early in the season my serve as a spring board for the rest of the season. So far, so good on that strategy as Geneva has reeled off four straight wins since that loss including a 5-0 victory over Franciscan University on Saturday night. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record to 5-1-1.

It took just five minutes for Geneva to dent the scoreboard as Jake McCracken found a loose ball off of a Jeb Nash corner kick and found the net for his team leading eighth goal of the season. Ten minutes later Garrett Masters scored his first goal of the season followed by Teddy Krzywiecki′s first tally of the year two minutes later.

The theme of first goal scorers continued in the 37th minute when Alexander Rosenbaum scored on a perfect feed from Mason Pakhtigian. Finally, Josh Mann got the monkey off his back with his first goal of 2011 on an unassisted marker in the 56th minute to close out the scoring.

Evan Biedenbach registered his second victory and first shut-out of the season with three saves in the game including a sparkler off of a header midway through the first half.

Geneva will continue its home stand next week with a meeting against Marietta on Wednesday before welcoming the NCAA Division III national champions Messiah to Merriman Complex next Saturday afternoon.
