Beaver Falls, PA - The Presidents′ Athletic Conference may have to rename the men′s soccer player of the week award to the Geneva College men′s soccer player of the week award. For the third straight week, a member of the Geneva College men′s soccer team has garnered PAC weekly honors. After Bryan Butler had grabbed the defensive player of the week award for two straight weeks, Jake McCracken was named the PAC player of the week on Monday.

McCracken and his teammates put together a perfect 3-0 week with victories over LaRoche, Malone and Franciscan to improve their overall record to 5-1-1 including four straight wins. McCracken opened the week with a hat trick in Geneva′s 4-1 win over LaRoche. He then found the net once in each of Geneva′s victories over Malone and Franciscan.

For the season, McCracken leads the Golden Tornadoes with eight goals and an assist for 17 points in the first seven games of the year.

Geneva has an exciting week ahead of them as they will host Marietta College on Wednesday night before welcoming in the two-time NCAA Division III national champion Messiah College to Merriman Complex on Saturday afternoon at 4 pm. Geneva traveled to Messiah two years ago and dropped a 4-0 decision but this will be the first trip to Beaver Falls for the national powerhouse.
