Beaver Falls, PA - The Presidents′ Athletic Conference championship trophy for women′s tennis seems to have an annual home on the campus of Grove City. The Wolverines have seemingly cornered the market on conference titles in women′s tennis. Those same Wolverines took on Geneva College on Thursday afternoon for the first time in conference play. In match that had been postponed twice in the last couple of weeks and had to be ultimately moved to Geneva, it didn′t seem to matter much to the defending champs.

Grove City dispatched Geneva 9-0 in very a very workmanlike manner to stay atop the PAC standings at 4-0. Meanwhile, the Golden Tornadoes dropped to 1-4 overall including a 1-3 mark in conference play.

The Wolverines swept the three doubles matches and allowed Geneva to win only four total games. The six singles matches were equally one-sided as the Golden Tornadoes managed a total of six games in matches that were all decided in straight sets.

The Golden Tornadoes have had to deal with the best the PAC has to offer in the first few weeks of the season and will hopefully look to improve upon their slow start. Geneva will get its first chance to turn things around on Saturday afternoon when it travels to Chatham University to take on the Cougars for a 1 pm match.
