Beaver Falls, PA - It was all about quality instead of quantity for the Geneva College women′s soccer team on Tuesday night. The Golden Tornadoes managed only three shots on goal all night against Marietta but the one that counted the most came off of the foot of Risa Tillman midway through the first overtime period that sent Geneva to a 1-0 victory. The win put an end to Geneva′s three game slide and moved its overall record to 4-5-1.

Marietta controlled the tempo and the field position for most of the night but neither team could find the net in regulation. The Pioneers out shot Geneva 16-4 for the game but could not get one past Karmyn Culbertson, who was making only her second start of the season.

Midway through the first overtime, Geneva was granted a corner kick and Tillman was able to take the kick and spin it into the corner of the net for the game winner. Culbertson was a close second when it comes to heroes as she made 11 saves for the match and picked up her first collegiate victory.

The Golden Tornadoes will head into PAC play on Saturday with their first ever conference game against Washington & Jefferson at 11 am.
