Greenville, PA - For the first time in 2011, the Geneva College women′s tennis team has put together back to back victories. Following a 5-4 win over Chatham on Saturday, the Golden Tornadoes cruised to an 8-1 win at Thiel on Wednesday afternoon. The victory pushed Geneva′s overall record to 3-4 including a 3-3 mark within the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

Geneva opened the match by taking two out of three doubles matches. Amy Weller and Julie Kline teamed up for an 8-0 victory while teammates Brittany Kress and Courtney Light cruised to an 8-1 victory in #3 doubles.

The Golden Tornadoes put the match away by sweeping all six singles matches. Weller, Kline and Kress all won for the second time of the day while Cassandra Califf, Alison Beattie and Alyssa Kuhn pulled off additional singles victories. Each of the six singles matches were won by Geneva in straight sets.

Geneva will look to make it three in row on Friday when it welcomes Bethany College to Brady′s Run Park for a 4 pm match.
