The Office of Career Development begins its semester-long "Calling & Vocation" program on Thursday, September 8 with "Calling, Chocolate and Career Development." The event will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in Skye Lounge, and will feature a chocolate fountain and a discussion on the topic "What was I created for?"
Over the course of the fall semester, Career Development will be holding many events offering professional advice on resumes, internships and graduate school. There will also be several networking opportunities, such as the "Accounting Recruitment Day" on Thursday, October 13 and the "Student and Alumni Networking Event" held Wednesday, February 8 from 6-7:30 p.m., featuring a panel of Geneva alumni.
Also part of the series is the "Calling & Vocation" chapel with keynote speakers Russ and Bethany Warren on Wednesday, November 9 at 10:15 a.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. The Warrens will be talking about opening their coffee house, Beaver Falls Coffee and Tea Company (BFCAT), and the calling that inspired their endeavor.
The Career Development Office provides career and academic counseling, internship opportunities, and resume and interviewing services. Its services are available to all students and alumni. The office encourages all students to find their calling and start on their career path as early as possible.
