Latrobe, PA - The Geneva College women′s soccer team was climbing an uphill battle all afternoon at Saint Vincent on Wednesday. The Golden Tornadoes fell behind early and could never answer the Bearcats goal and dropped a 1-0 decision to fall to 4-7-1 overall and 0-2 in the PAC.

The Bearcats broke a scoreless tie just 12 minutes into the match which would prove to be all they would need. Monika Derboghossian found the net on one of Saint Vincent′s seven first half shots. The Bearcats out shot Geneva 12-3 for the match but Karmyn Culbertson made six saves to keep the Golden Tornadoes in the match. Culbertson was starting for only the fourth time in her career and once again played a solid match in the net.

Saint Vincent goalkeeper Kirstie Mills was forced to make just three saves in registering the victory and the shut-out as Saint Vincent improved to 5-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference.

The Golden Tornadoes return home on Saturday to host Westminster College at 5 pm at the Merriman Athletic Complex.
