John ShipleyBEAVER FALLS, PA - John Shipley is not exactly known for his offensive prowess. In fact, coming into Geneva′s game with Westminster on Saturday night, the sophomore back had never registered a point through a year and half with the Golden Tornadoes. All that changed on Saturday as he struck for a pair of goals including the overtime game winner in a 3-2 victory over Westminster. For his sudden outburst, Shipley was awarded with the Presidents′ Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.

Shipley has been a big part of a solid Geneva defense that has it sitting atop the PAC standings with a perfect 3-0 mark. For the season, the Golden Tornadoes are 9-3-1 and have won eight of its last ten games. Shipley becomes the third member of Geneva′s team to receive player of the week honors joining Jake McCracken and Bryan Butler, who won defensive honors in the first two weeks of the season.

The Golden Tornadoes will put their perfect conference record on the line on Wednesday night when they welcome Bethany College. On Saturday, Geneva will travel to Thomas More for a showdown with the defending conference champion Saints.
