Beaver Falls, PA - Trying to claim sole possession of fourth place in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference, the Geneva College tennis team needed a victory against Bethany in the regular season finale on Monday afternoon. The Golden Tornadoes wound up ending the campaign in a three-way tie for fourth place after dropping a 6-3 decision to the Bison. Geneva, Bethany and Thomas More each finished the regular season conference schedule with a mark of 5-4.

Geneva put itself in a very difficult situation early in the match by dropping all three doubles matches. Needing to win five of six in singles, the Golden Tornadoes managed to only split the six matches and fall 6-3 in the season finale. Alyssa Kuhn, Julie Kline and Brittany Kress each got to the winner′s circle with straight set victories in singles. The victories in #4, #5 and #6 singles was simply not enough to overcome the early deficit.

The Golden Tornadoes will now await the pairings for their first ever PAC Championship tournament appearance this weekend in Erie. Geneva will be one of nine conference schools represented in the two day event on Friday and Saturday.
