Beaver Falls, PA - The football term slash has been popularized by those athletes that can fill more than one position on a football field. In the case of Rocco Colavecchia, he actually needs more than one slash after his name. The junior transfer has played as many as three different offensive positions, sometimes within the same drive. On Saturday, he showcased his talents in helping Geneva pick up a 23-7 victory over Grove City. For his extraordinary effort, Colavecchia was named the Presidents′ Athletic Conference offensive player of the week.

Splitting time as a quarterback, running back and slot receiver, Colavecchia did most of his damage with his legs on Saturday. He rushed for a career best 178 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. He also threw for 28 yards on a pair of completions. With Geneva clinging to a 9-7 fourth quarter lead, Colavecchia put the game out of reach with touchdown runs of 13 and 75 yards in the fourth quarter to help the Golden Tornadoes to their second PAC victory of the season.

For the season, Colavecchia is Geneva′s leading rusher 360 yards and four touchdowns. He is also near the team lead with 24 pass receptions for 179 yards. Through the air, he has passed for nearly 500 yards and four touchdowns.
