Beaver Falls, PA - Even the emotion of senior night and the home finale for the Geneva College women′s soccer team wasn′t enough to generate some much needed offense. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 3-0 decision to Waynesburg on Wednesday for their sixth consecutive loss including three straight shut-outs. The loss dropped Geneva′s record to 4-11-1 including an 0-6 mark in conference play.

Waynesburg came into Wednesday′s action with an impressive 13-2 overall and saw Geneva play head to head for the first 25 minutes of the match. The Yellow Jackets were finally able to break the scoreless tie with a Susie Godwin goal in the 33rd minute.

Taylor Augustine scored her seventh and eighth goals of the season in the first 17 minutes of the second half to stretch the lead to 3-0 which was more than enough for Katrina Kelly, who picked up her ninth shut-out of the season.

Waynesburg out shot Geneva 14-6 for the match as senior goalkeeper Natalie Swartley came up with five saves in her first collegiate start. Another bright spot for the Golden Tornadoes was the play of Risa Tillman who accounted for four of Geneva′s six shots on the night.

The Golden Tornadoes will close out the season with road games at Grove City, Chatham and Thiel in the next ten days.
