Grove City, PA - Senior goalkeeper Natalie Swartley certainly made a memory for herself on Friday afternoon as the Geneva stopper made 12 saves against Grove City in a 1-0 loss to the Wolverines. Geneva watched Grove City pound out a total of 29 shots to its six but stayed within shouting distance thanks to the play of its goalkeeper.

The loss was Geneva′s seventh straight as it fell to 0-7 in the PAC and 4-12-1 overall. The Golden Tornadoes have now gone four consecutive matches without finding the net on offense. Meanwhile, Grove City was able to find the net after opening the scoring just two minutes into the match.

On its first shot of the game, the Wolverines got the only goal they would need when Emily Hurley found the net at the 1:59 mark of the first half. Although Grove City was able to control the field position for most of the match, the Golden Tornadoes remained in the game throughout the afternoon. Risa Tillman was again solid as she posted four of Geneva′s six shots in the net but was unable to get one past Grove City′s Tiffany Yost, who made four saves for the shut-out.

The Golden Tornadoes will travel to Chatham and Thiel next week to close out the 2011 campaign.
