Erie, PA - Julie Kline will always have the distinction of being the first Geneva College athlete to compete in a Presidents′ Athletic Conference championship. After winning twice on Friday at the PAC women′s tennis championships, Kline dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision to Grove City′s Reena Barnett in the #4 singles bracket.

Kline, who defeated players from Bethany and Saint Vincent on Friday, was the only Geneva player out of seven to advance past the first round. In the semi-finals on Friday evening, Kline defeated Saint Vincent′s Stephanie Rubin in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 after falling to Rubin in straight sets earlier in the season.

Six of the nine flights were won by Grove City which captured its unprecedented 25th consecutive PAC women′s tennis championship. Geneva finished its regular season earlier in the week with an overall record of 5-7 and a mark of 5-4 in its first eligible season as a member of NCAA Division III.
