Greenville, PA - It was a wonderful way for the Geneva College women′s soccer season to come to an end. The Golden Tornadoes closed out the 2011 season with a 4-0 victory over Thiel on Saturday that improved their overall record to 6-12-1 overall and 2-7 in the PAC. After suffering through offensive struggles for most of the year, the Golden Tornadoes ended the season with four goal efforts against Chatham and Thiel to end the season.

Geneva out shot Thiel 14-2 in the match as senior goalkeeper Natalie Swartley picked up her first career shut-out without having to lift a finger as Thiel did not register a shot on goal. Meanwhile, the Geneva offense starting clicking early as it posted a pair of goals just 50 seconds apart in the first half. Rebecca Shaw scored her seventh goal of the season to open the scoring in the 21st minute before Kathryn Wiater found the next for her second tally of the season just 50 seconds later.

Justine Miller got credit for a goal in the 33rd minute on a ball that deflected off of a Thiel defender. Rhetta King closed out her freshman campaign by posting her fifth goal of the game mid-way through the second half to close out the scoring.

Geneva finishes the 2011 season on a positive note with back to back victories after dropping seven straight PAC matches to start the month of October.
