Beaver Falls, PA - For the first time in five years, Geneva College student-athletes are finally eligible to receive All-Conference recognition from the Presidents′ Athletic Conference. The PAC office released the 2011 All-Conference team on Monday with a total of 11 Geneva College players receiving honors. Sophomore defensive lineman Kevin Miranda received second team honors as the only Golden Tornado to be place on either the first or second team. Miranda had 28 tackles including eight tackles for loss. He led the Golden Tornadoes in 2011 with five sacks.

Geneva placed three of Miranda′s defensive teammates on the honorable mention list. Linebackers and leading tacklers Dillon Goodell and Solomon Hejirika along with defensive back Tucker Nuetzel all received honorable mention consideration.

A rare occurrence for any All-Conference team is to have two quarterbacks from the same team honored. Geneva used a two quarterback system for most of the 2011 system and both Rocco Colavecchia and Zack Hayward were named honorable mention All-Conference selections. Offensive linemen Brandon Martin and Dan Massaro, along with wide receiver Corey O′Patchen were also given honorable mention status.

Thomas More sophomore running back Dominique Hayden was named player of the year with Saint Vincent′s Bob Colbert nabbing coach of the year honors for leading Saint Vincent to an impressive turnaround season and a second place finish.

Geneva finished its season with a 4-6 overall record and a 4-4 mark in the PAC including victories against Thiel and Westminster to close out the 2011 campaign.
