Beaver Falls, PA - It was the tale of two teams this year at Geneva College in men′s and women′s soccer. While the women′s team finished strong with a pair of victories to end the season but finished at 6-12-1, the men′s soccer team still has business to attend to with the NCCAA East Regional finals on Saturday at Malone University. The men′s team has an overall record of 14-5-2 which includes a mark of 6-1-1 in the first year competing as a full member in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.
The PAC released its All-Conference teams for men′s and women′s soccer this week and the Golden Tornadoes were well represented. On the women′s side, Maura Allen and Rebecca Shaw, Geneva′s top two goal scorers, were each named honorable mention selections in the first year that Geneva players were eligible for post-season honors. The duo combined for 16 goals to lead the Golden Tornadoes offensively.
On the men′s side, senior Jake McCracken and junior Jeb Nash became Geneva′s first ever PAC first team All-Conference selections. McCracken leads Geneva in scoring with 12 goals while Nash has tallied seven goals this season including the game winner against Grove City in the PAC semi-finals. Nash also has a team best eight assists to his credit. Senior defender Caleb Musselman was named as a second team selection while teammates Teddy Krzywiecki, Jon Mathoslah and Bryan Butler were all honorable mention selections. Mathoslah has established himself as a fixture on Geneva′s back line while Krzywiecki enjoyed a break-out season with three goals and four assists. Freshman goalkeeper Bryan Butler posted a record of 7-3-1 with a 0.91 goals against average.
