Geneva College Men's SoccerBeaver Falls, PA - It didn't really matter what seed the Geneva College men′s soccer team was handed on Monday for the NCCAA national tournament. The Golden Tornadoes earned their way to the national stage with a penalty kick victory over Malone University on Saturday afternoon. Geneva (14-5-3) was given the seventh seed in the eight team field and will open up against second seeded Palm Beach Atlantic University (12-7-0). The Golden Tornadoes are scheduled to arrive in Florida next Tuesday with their opening round game slated for Wednesday, November 30 at noon against PBA. The Geneva/PBA game will be the first on the full day′s schedule.

The format is a single elimination deal with each team being guaranteed three games. Once a team loses, it no longer has a chance to win the title. The winner of Geneva/PBA will take on the winner of Judson (13-8-1) and Grace (10-7-4) the next day in the semi-final round. Friday is a scheduled off day with the championship match set for Saturday evening December 3.

The tournament will take place in Kissimmee, FL at Austin Tindell Regional Park. California Baptist University (15-5-0) is the West region champion and earned the top seed in next week′s tournament.

"It is certainly an exciting time for our program," said head coach Gary Dunda. "It has been quite a while since a Geneva team has gotten its chance at the NCCAA national tournament so we are hoping to take advantage of this opportunity. There is much that goes on in addition to the games and I am very excited for our student-athletes to have a chance to enjoy this reward for a great season."
