Metheny Fieldhouse was filled with students dressed in formal attire for the annual Geneva College Film Fest on the evening of Saturday December 10, 2011. Sponsored each year by Student Activities, this event showcases films featuring the writing, directing and acting talents of Geneva students.

Jesse Lambert receives his award."The night was a celebration of Geneva students creating media culture in an atmosphere of support, excitement and black ties," said senior Jeremy Shen, who hosted the evening along with senior Ji Bae.

Film Fest 2011 featured six student-made movies: On My Mind by junior Anna Harris, Mantooth by senior Brigette Barto, Forward Motion in a Backward World by senior Jesse Lambert, Lost and Found by freshman Nicole Allen, I Can Fly by junior Micah Taylor and lol XD ;) by freshman Simon Hunsberger.

The Best Film award went to Taylor′s I Can Fly. Taylor also received Best Cinematography for his efforts. Forward Motion in a Backward World by Jesse Lambert was selected by students for the People′s Choice Award. Lambert was also awarded Best Director. Other award recipients included Best Actors senior Joshua Barker and junior Adam Rowe.

"Film Fest is the event I look forward to the most," exclaimed senior Laura Bly. "It′s fun to dress up and enjoy a formal night with your friends."
