Beaver Falls, PA - It certainly hasn′t been easy going for the Geneva College women′s basketball team this season. On Wednesday night, the Golden Tornadoes dropped a 66-43 decision to Bethany College to fall to 3-15 overall and 2-9 in the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

For most of the first half, the Golden Tornadoes were running step for step with the Bison but late in the first stanza, Bethany took control and never looked back. With the Golden Tornadoes trailing 19-16 with 6:30 to play in the first half, Bethany took control of the game. Geneva managed only five points for the rest of the half while the Bison ended the first 20 minutes on a 20-5 run to take a 39-21 lead into the locker room. Bethany led by as many as 28 points midway through the second half before settling for the 23 point victory.

Beth DeLuca was Geneva′s lone double digit scorer with 12 points. Chelsea Kauffman added nine points and five rebounds for the Golden Tornadoes. Anne Wilson came off the bench to score a game high 16 points including a 2-3 effort from three-point range.

The Golden Tornadoes head to Waynesburg on Saturday before facing Grove City in a showdown next Wednesday that could decide the final play-off spot in the PAC tournament at season′s end.
