chapel_220.jpgThis schedule of speakers for the spring semester will continue Geneva College′s chapel theme of "Crazy Love," based on the book by Francis Chan. In addition to members of the Geneva community, guests for the semester include a variety of well-known speakers, pastors and authors.

In January, Habitudes author Tim Elmore will be visiting campus. Elmore′s most recent book is Generation iY: Our Last Chance to Save Their Future. He is the founder and president of Growing Leaders, an Atlanta-based non-profit organization created to assist emerging leaders. They provide public schools, state universities, civic organizations and corporations with the means to help young leaders develop.

Kevin Jordan, the chaplain for the Steelers, will also speak in January. Jordan graduated from UCLA as the all-time leading receiver in catches and yards. After a brief career in the NFL, he decided to minister full-time with Athletes in Action. In March 2008, Jordan accepted the call to serve as chaplain for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Jim Belcher, pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and author of Deep Church, will be on campus in February. He is the cofounder of the Restoring Community Conference: Integrating Social Interaction: Integrating Social Interaction, Sacred Space and Beauty in the 21st Century, an annual conference for city officials, planners, builders and architects.

Other speakers for the semester include J.G. Vos Memorial Lecture speaker Dr. Dan Doriani, pastor of College Hill Anglican Fellowship Rev. Mike McGhee, and Geneva′s Director of Multicultural Student Services Kathy Kinzer.

Chapel, a weekly devotional time for the Geneva College community, is conducted on Wednesdays from 10:15-11:00 a.m. in Metheny Fieldhouse. This time provides an opportunity for the campus to gather together to praise God, hear His word, and seek His favor and direction. Attendance is required for students and the entire campus community is encouraged to participate.
