Beaver Falls, PA - In a game that had serious PAC play-off implications, the Geneva College women′s basketball team could not find its offense and dropped a 46-36 decision to Grove City College at Metheny Fieldhouse on Wednesday night. The loss was Geneva′s seventh straight and dropped its overall record to 3-17 including a 2-11 record in the conference. Grove City entered the night just one game ahead of Geneva in the PAC standings and holding onto the eighth and final play-off spot. The loss puts Geneva two full games behind the Wolverines with only five conference games remaining.

Neither team will look back at Wednesday night′s game as an offensive showcase. In the first half, the two teams combined for just 16 field goals and the Wolverines took a 20-18 lead into the locker room. Geneva took its only lead of the game at the eight minute mark of the second half with a 26-25 lead. Grove City responded with the next six points and never looked back.

Geneva converted on 2-19 from three point range including a 1-10 effort in the second half. For the game, the Golden Tornadoes shot just 29% from the field while holding Grove City to just 34%. The Wolverines also took advantage of 16 Geneva turnovers with 13 points off of those mistakes.
