Beaver Falls, PA - It will be difficult for junior distance runner Nick Edinger to continue at the successful pace he has been on this year. Qualifying yet again for the cross country nationals in the NCCAA in the fall, the spring semester has started off even more impressively for Edinger. On Wednesday, he was awarded the male PAC SAAC scholar-athlete of the month.

Each month, SAAC members at a PAC school nominate a student-athlete to highlight based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Honorees must a varsity member in their respective sport and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved on his or her campus community.

Edinger more than fits the criteria based on his amazing athletic accomplishments. A member of both cross country and track and field, he has been a National Christian College national qualifier in track & field and cross country for each of the past two years. He was also a PAC Coach′s Honor selection for two years. Already this spring, he has broken the school record for the 3000 meter indoor race while tying the school mark in the 5000 meter event.

In the classroom, Edinger is a psychology major with a 3.55 GPA. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Edinger also volunteers as a basketball instructor for a youth church league and as a track coach for homeschooled children.
