Washington, PA - Geneva College head women′s basketball coach Lori Wynn deserves a lot of credit for holding the Golden Tornadoes together down the stretch. Injuries have continued to plague Geneva all season and on Wednesday night Geneva managed to dress only seven players at Washington & Jefferson. Geneva dropped a 69-44 decision to the Presidents for its 11th consecutive loss but the senior leaders for the Golden Tornadoes did their best to try to hold things together.

Ten minutes into the game, Geneva trailed W & J 21-17 following a Brielle Cowden lay-up. The Presidents scored the next 15 points to open a 19 point lead and would never look back. Geneva could never again get the deficit back into single digits.

Geneva′s two lone seniors did their best to keep Geneva hanging around as Beth DeLuca and Rachel Rouan combined for 30 points. DeLuca scored a game high 20 points including three treys to go along with seven rebounds. Rouan posted a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Geneva converted on only seven field goals in the second half and was just 1-7 from long range in the final 20 minutes.

The Golden Tornadoes dropped their overall record to 3-21 on the season including a 2-15 mark in the PAC. Geneva will try to end the season on a positive note when it hosts Westminster on Saturday night at 5:30 pm. Seniors DeLuca and Rouan will be honored on senior night prior to the start of the men′s game scheduled for 7:30 pm.
