Washington, PA - By the time Geneva College′s baseball team found a way to put some offense together, it turned out to be too little, too late. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 13-7 decision to Washington & Jefferson on Wednesday as Geneva fell to 11-13 overall and 5-7 in conference play.

The Presidents opened the game with three runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. W & J posted two runs each in the third, fifth and eighth innings while also posting a three spot in the seventh. Geneva starter Ryan Nolt went just 2.2 innings and allowed four hits, five walks and five earned runs. Cody Holbrook and Caleb Kilgore also pitched in relief before Geneva was forced to turn to utility infielder Joel Gatti for the final two innings of work.

Geneva′s offense generated seven hits with Jon Bushmire coming up with a pair. Gatti also did some work at the plate with a base hit and a pair of RBI′s in the losing cause. For W & J, it was the Aaron Klinec show as the shortstop picked up four hits and five RBI to lead the Presidents offense attack. W & J improved to 14-2 overall and 5-1 in the PAC.

Geneva will head to New Wilmington on Thursday for a single game with the Titans before returning home on Saturday for a doubleheader with their rivals from New Wilmington.
