New Wilmington, PA - The Westminster College baseball team is rolling. The Titans improved to a perfect 7-0 in the PAC on Thursday with a 16-9 decision over Geneva College. The 16 runs came just 24 hours after the Titans posted 21 runs against Saint Vincent. The Golden Tornadoes fell to 11-14 overall and 5-8 in the conference despite nine runs and 14 hits in a losing cause.

Geneva′s make shift pitching staff struggled on Thursday. Senior Noah Medich made his first start of the season and yielded five runs in 4.1 innings of work. Medich, the usual first baseman for the Golden Tornadoes, allowed eight hits in the outing. Dan Jeffries came in and managed to get just one out while allowing seven earned runs. The Titans broke the game open with four runs in the fourth inning and an eight-spot in the fifth.

Jon Bushmire opened the scoring for Geneva with an RBI infield single in the first inning. The Golden Tornadoes were held off the board again until two runs in the sixth. Adam Scheiderer returned to Geneva′s line-up and blasted his first homer of the season. Scheiderer′s two-run shot in the sixth got Geneva back on the board. Trailing 16-3 heading into the ninth inning, the Golden Tornadoes put together a six run rally. Jeremy Herzog came up with a two-run triple and Garrett Swanson hit a bases clearing double to highlight the late rally.

Bushmire lead the 14 hit attack with a 4-5 day while Mike Jeffreys had three hits and Mike Suluva came up with a pair. The Titans finished their offensive afternoon with 18 total hits.

Geneva will look for some revenge against Westminster as it will try to hand the Titans their first conference losses on Saturday at 33rd Street Field. The two teams are scheduled to square off in a doubleheader at 11 am.
