Crestview Hills, KY - The Geneva College baseball team out hit Thomas More on Saturday. The problem for the Golden Tornadoes in the third game of the three-game series in Kentucky was the inability to find the strike zone early in the game. Geneva issued a total of 12 walks on the day in a 9-4 loss to the Saints. The loss dropped Geneva′s overall record to 14-19 including an 8-13 mark within the Presidents′ Athletic Conference.

The Saints jumped out quickly with three runs in the first, one in the second and four more in the third. Geneva starter Ryan Nolt gave up only two hits in his three innings of work but had trouble finding the strike zone with ten walks to his credit. Nolt was saddled with the loss but not before Mike Trn came on and gave Geneva a solid effort out of the bullpen. Trn went five innings and allowed just one earned run on six hits while striking out a pair.

Geneva′s offense finished the game with ten hits including two each from Dan Jeffreys and Noah Medich. Geneva dented the scoreboard with an unearned run in the sixth before Adam Scheiderer hit a three-run double in the ninth inning for a trio of RBI′s.

Geneva will head to Buffalo on Tuesday for a non-conference doubleheader with Medaille before closing out the regular season with a three-game series against Waynesburg next weekend. Geneva will play at the Yellow Jackets on Friday and host Waynesburg in a doubleheader at 1 pm next Saturday.
