Waynesburg, PA - Not much went the way of the Geneva College baseball team on Friday. The Golden Tornadoes dropped a 13-0 decision to Waynesburg University in the first of three games scheduled between the teams this weekend. The Golden Tornadoes fell to 14-20 overall and 8-14 in league play with the setback.

Waynesburg posted runs in four of the first five innings to open up a 10-0 lead after five frames. Three more runs crossed the plate in the seventh while Geneva was kept off the scoreboard with seven hits in the game. T.J. Lambert got the start on the mound for Geneva and went 4.1 innings while allowing five hits and nine earned runs. Lambert was bitten by the control bug with nine walks in the outing. Ryan Nolt finished the game by allowing four earned runs in 3.2 innings of action.

Geneva′s offense was limited to just six singles and a double from Ryan McGonigle. Shane Wingard was the only Geneva player to post a pair of hits in the loss.

The Golden Tornadoes will close out the 2012 campaign on Saturday with a doubleheader against the Yellow Jackets. Because of a poor weather forecast for the afternoon, the twin bill has been pushed up to 10:30 am at 33rd Street Field.
