Beaver Falls, PA - With success comes accolades and the Geneva College softball team has certainly enjoyed its share of success in 2012. As a result, the post-season honors have started to flow in for the Golden Tornadoes as they prepare to make their first ever trip to the NCAA Division III regional tournament.

On Monday, the Presidents′ Athletic Conference announced its All-Conference team and to nobody′s surprise senior pitcher Julie DiLonardo was named the PAC player of the year. DiLonardo was nothing short of sensational all season and capped off her year with a perfect 3-0 performance at the PAC tournament helping Geneva win its first crown. For the season, DiLonardo was 26-16 in the circle with a 1.59 ERA and 270 strikeouts, which ranks her third in the country in NCAA Division III. Joining DiLonardo on the PAC first team was sophomore second baseman Christina Fuqua (.340) and senior outfielder Martha Adams (.343).

A pair of Geneva players were also named to the second team in sophomore shortstop Ashley Davis (.373) and junior outfielder Lori Deem (.287).

Because of its trip to the NCAA Division III play-offs, Geneva had to forego its automatic bid to the NCCAA national tournament. Geneva gained that bid by claiming the NCCAA East region title. DiLonardo was named the NCCAA east region player of the year and was joined on the All-Region team by teammates Davis, Fuqua, Adams and Deem. Sophomore catcher Brittany Clark was named an honorable mention selection in the NCCAA East region. Tenth year head coach Van Zanic was named PAC coach of the year and NCCAA east region coach of the year.
