StevenGarber2.jpgAcademic and author Dr. Steven Garber presented Geneva′s 2012 commencement address, "Singing Songs That the Whole World Can Hear: On Vocation and the Common Good," on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Dr. Garber, principal and founder of the Washington Institute for Faith, Vocation and Culture, an educational center located in Washington DC, spoke on the necessity of guiding oneself by one′s faith. Once college has been left behind for the complexities of life, the 1976 Geneva grad said, "everything becomes more complex."

Dr. Garber is the author of The Fabric of Faithfulness: Weaving Together Belief & Behavior During the University Years, a Christianity Today 1998 book of the year. The book discusses how college students can work towards connecting their beliefs about the world with the way they lead their lives.
