Geneva College will host the annual Cokes and Connections event on Friday, September 7 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the campus′ pedestrian mall. Through the event, students have the opportunity to learn about programs that are offered by Geneva and the Beaver Falls community.

At Cokes and Connections, students visit booths to hear about programs and learn how to get involved. A great variety of clubs, churches and volunteer programs are represented. From men′s rugby to the after-school program Tiger Pause, there is a program for any interest.

After visiting a booth, students will receive a ticket from the sponsor. Once a student has three tickets, they can be exchanged for a Coca-Cola beverage of their choice by visiting the Geneva College Student Union (GCSU) Booth.

This event is held early in the semester to provide students with connection points that could benefit a student for the rest of their time at Geneva. "Through Cokes and Connections, our focus is to help all students get plugged into clubs, local churches and volunteer programs," says Director of Student Leadership Development Brian Jensen.

After the success of the event last year, Jensen looks forward to seeing the impact of Cokes and Connections this year. "It was great to see the student body learning about ways to get involved. This is for all students, not just freshmen."

Becky Phillips, Associate Director of Church and Parent Relations, adds, "The event makes it easy for students to connect with things that they are interested in very quickly. There are also free beverages so it′s a win-win."
