Beaver Falls, PA - The Geneva College volleyball team saw its undefeated season come to an end on Saturday, but a 4-1 record last week combined with the outstanding play of junior setter Deanna Briody was reason enough for the Presidentsā€² Athletic Conference to tab Briody the volleyball player of the week.

The defending PAC player of the year, Briody helped Geneva win four of five matches including a victory in the first conference match of the season. She totaled 199 assists (11.06 assists/set) while adding 4.0 digs per set and 0.72 service aces per set. At the Hiram Invitational she finished with 165 assists in four matches (11.79 assists/set). For her efforts over the weekend, she earned her second consecutive All-Tournament selection in 2012.

The Golden Tornadoes improved to 8-1 on the season behind the play of Briody and a balanced offensive attack that features a handful of dangerous attackers. Geneva heads to Chatham on Tuesday to take on the Cougars as well as a date with Washington & Jefferson. After 11 matches away from home, Geneva will finally get a chance to play on its home court on Wednesday evening when it welcomes Waynesburg University.
